Social Media Marketing Engagement how to enhance it using the triple threat

It’s safe to say that we are a social media society.  We communicate with people more now than ever using social media in many ways.

This short post will walk you through a couple of tips that will help you increase your social media engagement. As well as enhance your online experience.   We do everything from posting photos to using the built in messenger to keep in touch with people that we care about,.  As well as others we don’t like as much as they think that we do.

If you spend a lot of time and put in a lot of effort it’s it’s always great to see some engagement.  What do you do when social media seems to dry up on you

So we all know what it’s like to be doing really well in your business.  Then you hit that plateau and you come to what feels like a screeching halt!  Your audience as well as your community is bored and not engaging at all.

It’s safe to say that you’re in a rut.  We’ve all been there from time to time so that is why I want to address this today.

I’m not certain were this came from if I find it I will have to give credit were credit is deserved.  I’m fairly certain that it came from a workshop I was at from one of the many presenters that we had that day.

The reason why I remember it was because it was a triple threat to getting out of a social media Rut!

The First of the tripe threat (AAA) is “A” is for Attention

Attention was the first one.  If you community or audience has seemed to be a little bored with you. Your content and things seemed to plateau then it’s time for you to do something or somethings to grab their attention!

One of the easiest ways to do this on Social Media is to capitalize on stories.  Stories are still rather new to social media, and still somewhat underused.

For starters Facebook stories are under used.  What is the first thing that you see when you pull up your facebook app?  Exactly right at the top of everyone’s feed is the current stories.

We all know that everyone spends too much time everyday on Facebook and there is just one opportunity to be at the top of everyone in your communities feed.

Instagram stories also owned by Facebook has a very similar option at the top of the app to be on the top on your communities feeds.  So on top of the normal posting that you’re doing everyday on Instagram.  Feel free to post to your stories almost as much as you would like to throughout the day.

One of the most powerful ways to get noticed on social media is to go LIVE.  Going live is an easy short and impromptu to way to be able to get directly to your community.  To be able to engage with them in real time to answer their questions. To get feed back the possibilities are really endless.

Going live on platforms brings an unscripted and real element that produced. Edited video’s just can’t give the same feeling of the live experience.  Connecting live is one of the fastest and realist way for you and your community to bond!

Promoting lives is also a great strategy.  You can promote these if you’re going live once a week or even everyday.  If you make sure to tell your audience when and where you will be. Promote this times then people know what to expect.

If you want to super charge this then be consistent week to week so that people know exactly what to expect and when.  After weeks and even months of these habits you will see a dramatic difference in your engagement.

The Second of the triple threat (AAA) “A”  is for Ask if you want to receive

This seems so simple yet everyday I see Entrepreneurs, small businesses and even corporations do this everyday. The Second A is for Ask! I see companies that will promote all day, and never ask for Engagment or call to action.  If you don’t ask you may never get any information from anyone.

One of the most engaging places to do this on social media is on Instagram.  I’ve done this several times and always had great success with it .

On Instagram you can set up a post or poll asking direct yes or no questions giving your audience one answer or the other.  I’ve done something as simple as asking do you like being your own boss YES or NO?

You will get the answers to the questions. Then to see the comments left along as well is the fun part!  People may even overshare.  The point is you are the one that asked the simple question. They often give you more than you thought they would.

It’s extremely easy to do.  Sometimes business owners who operate on social media forget that not everyone is on this platforms all day long. So when they are you need to make e it quick and easy.

Another way to ask for Engagment on social media is  to do fill in the blank questions for them.  (Fill in the _______)  I have just straight asked people on lives to drop a comment.  I have done fill in the blanks, and like I mentioned before polls are great to.

Ask people for opinions there are plenty of people that will give it to you anyway.  Most people do like tp be asked especially when they look at you as the authority.

I’ve asked from everything from branding and logo questions to what do they want be to address in the next live or post.  I have even seen some people asking for wardrobe advice the ideas can go on and on.

One thing that I used to have to remind myself especially when I started out is that Social Media is place for dialogue.  Not just a monologue.  Think about in real life if all that you do us talk at people then sooner than later they are going to tune you out.  We have all been around “That Guy”.

The third fo the triple threat is “A” is for Audit

The Third and final A is for Audit what you’re doing! If you just post the same thing over and over then it will be like talking at people and they will tune it out.  After all we are humans and there are plenty of shiny objects out there.

The most actuate way to do this on social media is to study the analytics  that each platform provides.  Facebook alone has more analytics than one person could ever consume!

Even more simple that looking at analytics you can just take an audit of the the last couple of posts that you’ve done and see which ones are perfuming well and take note.

Keep track of any trends of post that work compared to posts that don’t work.  This is a way that even the very beginner can do without getting technical and it will make a huge difference.

Take a look at competitors around social media in your niche and see what they are doing?  Take note of what’s working for them.  After that becomes more normal and simple then I to go outside of my niche or industry even and see what other industries are doing. See just how I can take those ideas and break them down to what I’m doing in my arena.

Sometimes marketers are way to monkey see monkey do. Then it seems like everyone is just doing the same thing over and over and it can get a little old for everyone.

If you can take what is working for other industries there’s a good chance that if done properly you will be able to make it work in yours as well.  Auditing should be done by everyone in every industry it’s another form of tracking.

We all know if you’re not tracking then you’re not working your entire business.

Don’t be afraid to try new things.

Experiments can not only be a refreshing thing for you, and also for your audience as well.  Sometimes just switching up even the smallest things will hav a huge impact on you as well as your community.

Instagram has IG TV which is a fun place to hang out and try new thing as well as Facebook stories or even on your wall.  If it’s never been done before who knows if it will work so don’t spend your entire day on it.  Trying new things can be a nice break from reality.

Pay attention to what works and what doesn’t when you’re auditing.  Drop the things that bomb and then keep the things that do it’s as simple as that.

Bonus Tip:

Get to know and like You Tube.  You Tube is in my mind the best way to grow and expand all social media platforms.  It is an evergreen platform that will continue to grow over time as long as you’re adding value!

You tube is also a search engine so when people are Googling topics they will send others to you Tube for the evergreen content that you created.  Even if it’s for Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and your email list as well!

So if you want more on social media engagement and how to get attention, ask for what you want, and more tips on auditing then check out this short Video that I just uploaded to You Tube HERE!!!
